SBP Contractor Volunteer Project

*This tour requires attendees to arrive on Tuesday, March 14th. There is a maximum of 20 participants who can join this volunteer project, spouses/guest are also welcome to join.

SBP has been on the ground in Puerto Rico since 2018 and has built more homes than any other organization to date. Their disaster response teams are currently deployed to visit communities, evaluate storm damages, and assess where our support is most needed.

Every day their team works simultaneously in 8 to 12 homes, driving forward recovery construction work so that each client can return to a safe and secure home.

ELECTRI is offering this volunteer opportunity to 20 attendees joining us in Puerto Rico. This is your chance to give hands on support to a community in need. No construction experience necessary! Volunteers help with many different phases of construction such as demolition, light framing, insulation, mold remediation, drywall, mudding or spackling, priming, painting, flooring, trim, doors and final punch. All training, safety instruction/gear and supervision provided.

Old San Juan Visit & Shopping

Explore the historical city of San Juan and enjoy the many shops and restaurants at your leisure.  This will be an unguided tour, giving you the opportunity to create your own adventure! We will provide you with a list of suggested sites to keep in mind during your visit. The registration cost covers transportation only.

Zip Lining

Come visit JungleQui Zipline Park at the Foothills of the Yunque National Rainforest and experience firsthand beautiful hiking trails and the thrill ride of 11 carbon fiber ziplines and two rappels, as you enjoy aerial views of the lush rainforest flora.

Bioluminescent Kayak (Evening Tour)

Do not let your trip end without exploring the top bioluminescent waters in the world. Our relaxing kayak tour at sunset will take you to the fascinating lagoon at Las Cabezas de San Juan. You will see the historical lighthouse of Fajardo and touch the waters that glow with single-celled dinoflagellate organisms. Your excursion begins by kayaking across Las Croabas bay, through a winding mangrove river, and finally into the bio-bay. Our professional tour staff will guide you throughout the entire tour. You will receive a life jacket, flashlight, safety briefing and kayaking instructions from one of our experienced tour guides. Refreshments, towels and light snacks will be provided.

*This tour involves 30 minutes of kayaking to bioluminescent location and 30 minutes kayaking for the return. While the bay is typically calm, there is a chance of high wind which would make it difficult for first time kayakers. This tour is not recommended for individuals with a history of back pain and/or injuries.

Walk & Taste

Puerto Rico has over 500 years of history making this destination one of the richest in culture. One of the ways to learn about our culture is through our culinary options. Spaniard, Taino and African flavors mix together in perfect harmony in our food and drinks. As you walk through the cobblestone streets of the Old City learning about its history, you will also experience our rich flavors of our cuisine creating an experience that will captivate all your senses.

Rainforest & Beach

Walk by the banks of the beautiful Mameyes River, cool down in its natural river pool, and get to know the foothills of the rainforest. Your tour includes a 1-hour stop at private land in the foothills of the rainforest. At this location, you will enjoy an easy 10–15-minute natural walk and a 45-minute opportunity to swim in a beautiful rainforest river. Then, enjoy traditional Puerto Rican Snack and Piña Colada at one of The Kiosk of Luquillo Beach and sunbathe at one of the most spectacular beaches in Puerto Rico.

Catamaran

Set sail aboard a catamaran for a delightful day in the Caribbean waters and discover our Island’s abundant living coral reefs. If you’ve never snorkeled before, here’s your opportunity to learn the sport in a fun and relaxing setting. You’ll have the opportunity to take short dives into the crystal clear waters where you’ll discover a world of fluid motion. Sunshine dancing across the ocean’s surface casts rippling shadows on the ocean floor. Coral reefs stretch their fingers toward the surface, their arms waving with the ocean currents. Brightly colored tropical fish dart in and out of the coral reefs, while schools of shimmering silver fish move in near-perfect unison. An unforgettable experience!
